Key Points
1. The world works all right, but we humans do not. There is a systemic error in our thinking that can be corrected by seeing it. The world is one movement; separateness is an illusion created by the mind.
2. Life is a miracle. If we don't see it so, we don't see it right. The problem is not in the world; it is in the mind.
3. A miracle is something that cannot be put in words. We can see and do miracles, but we can also experience being part of the miracle of life. A miracle connects us with a reality where our ego has no place. Everyone can tune into the frequency of miracles, but only in the here and now.
4. Living with what is means living with facts: it is seeing miracles in the world, in others — and in ourselves.
5. Direct perception is experiencing the world without the ego. It is connecting to the miracle of life without intermediaries or the distortions of thought. When the boundary between the self and the world disappears, we are the world.
6. The ego is a creation of the mind, of thinking. It lives in a world of concepts and images, which prevents direct perception. The ego thinks it is the master of the mind, but it is merely its servant.
7. The mind connects us to the world, but it also separates us from it because it is now governed by thinking that arbitrarily fragments the world into parts. The mind creates our problems, but it could also solve them if it functioned correctly. The mind is a process; it cannot be localised. It has three basic functions, and it succeeds only partially in each. Connecting with the world changes the function of the mind.
8. Thinking is a conditioned reflex that interprets and creates the world we live in, in our perceptions and in determining their meaning. It takes place in the brain and controls the mind. This creates problems. Thinking constructs a simplified model of the world, and this model prevents us from perceiving the world as it truly is.
9. Time is thought; it is an illusion. Without thought, there is no time. When thought manifesting in time ends, all time is now. There is no time in the present moment. The past consists of memories; the future is merely imagination. Time cannot help us in transforming our consciousness.
